On Saturday, 76ers guard Willie Green along with Flyers legend Dave Schultz, Sixers Dancers and Flyers Ice Girls generated $5,000 for the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation through Wachovia’s "Way 2 Save" program.

'Way 2 Save' encourages people to sign up for a Wachovia checking account that helps customers save money through higher earned interest rates. The event was held at the King of Prussia Mall, where mall-goers were urged to sign up for an account through a variety of games. Those who did enroll were able to jump into money-machines for a chance to win a $2,000 prize from Wachovia, awarded to the top five scorers on the day.

"It's definitely a good thing," Green said. "People work hard for their money, so it’s good to see they can save even more now."

Green also got his chance in the money-machine to collect money for charity. Although his strategy of letting bills blow into his shirt didn’t work as well as planned, Green was still able to collect $5,000 for the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation.

The principal focus of the Foundation is to support non-profit organizations that provide educational and recreational resources to underserved youth and to causes that engage in medical research and other important healthcare initiatives. The Comcast-Spectacor Foundation, encompassing Flyers, Sixers, Phantoms and Global Spectrum Charities, has contributed nearly $20 million to countless recipients and touched hundreds of thousands of lives.
