NBA Finals: Game 1
Philadelphia 76ers @ Los Angeles Lakers
In overtime, Allen Iverson hit a baseline jumper over Tyrone Lue by the Lakers bench. I then said, “He’s just too good.” The atmosphere for the Finals was electric. Celebrities from various movies were seated courtside. The Lakers had a perfect playoff record to that point, but we pulled off the upset. I called back to WIP Radio knowing that everyone with the organization was out west. I was on the air with Angelo and Company, and they had to cut the highlight with the “Rocky” music. That brought a smile to my face. In addition, ESPN’s SportsCenter ran a couple highlights with Sixers radio calls and simply said, “Listen to thi!” That was neat.

1st Round
Philadelphia 76ers @ Indiana Pacers
My dad sat with me on press row (keeping stats). I had to forewarn him about cheering, applauding, etc. He was properly reserved until Reggie Miller was charged with a technical foul right in front of us; he couldn’t contain a fist pump and a loud “Yeah!”

Game 1
Philadelphia 76ers @ Orlando Magic
I believe this was the first time in nine years the 76ers were in the playoffs. They ended up winning the game on the road. Iverson was brilliant and Matt Geiger played quite well. It was my first NBA playoff game.

Game 4
Orlando Magic @ Philadelphia 76ers
The arena was electric. We won the game and went on to win the series 3-1. It was a typical Saturday afternoon in the spring, awesome playoff weather.

Game 6
Philadelphia 76ers @ New Orleans Hornets
Whenever you close out a playoff series it’s special. It was late into the night, past midnight. Allen Iverson banked in a lucky but good three-pointer from straightaway out top. We won a shootout with Jamal Mashburn and New Orleans. Plus, my wife was due any day with our first child. Louisiana is home to the ‘Big Easy’ but is far from the easiest place to get in and out of. I was elated to be going back home and so I could be there for the baby’s delivery.

Round 2 Game 4
Philadelphia 76ers @ Detroit Pistons
This one is primarily personal. The night before this game our daughter was born. This was the first time I ever missed a game. For good reason though, because I wanted to be with my growing family. The doctors let me sit in the lounge to catch the game on TV. It was definitely weird not being at the game.
