Iguodala goes national
Philadelphia 76ers forward Andre Iguodala is going national tonight and tomorrow with help from ESPN.
Tonight, Iguodala will be in Bristol, CT to watch and analyze Game 3 of the NBA Finals with the crew from NBA Fast Break and then will appear on the show live following the game. He will be on set to help break down and analyze the outcome of what is a pivotal game in the series for the Orlando Magic.
Then on Wednesday, June 10 he will head back to the studio to participate in ESPN’s “1st & 10” where he will shoot six or seven live segments for the show between 10:00am and 12:30pm, going up against Skip Bayless.
So, how did Andre find himself in Connecticut on a Wednesday afternoon? Like everything else these days, the answer is simple: Twitter
Iguodala recently joined the Sixers in the SMS-based social networking world with his own account. He was watching the show one day when he posted the following tweet: “watchin 1st and 10...skip bayless is a diabolical hater! but that's why he's famous...ima do the show, pause, and let him know whats good...”
Shortly after Andre’s light-hearted post was a response from ESPN’s FirstTake Twitter account, essentially taking him up on the offer. A few calls and e-mails between ESPN, Andre’s representation and the Sixers PR department later, Iguodala was booked on the show for tomorrow.
TOY STORY: Macfarlane Toys has also produced an Andre Iguodala figure as part of their seven-figure NBA 2009 (Series 16) set. The lineup continues the company’s run of producing some of the most highly sought after and detailed representations of athletes produced today.
The Iguodala figure features him mid-flight driving to the basket In the past, Macfarlane has produced figures of Sixers Julius Erving, Moses Malone and Allen Iverson, so Iguodala joins exclusive company.
