Sixers give away groceries as Sixers make run through Playoffs

The ACME on City Line Avenue was buzzing with excitement today as the Sixers organization took over for a Supermarket Sweep. The event is part of the Sixers Run With Us Week, which is a week-long series of events the Sixers have put together to get their fans fired up for the 2009 NBA Playoffs.

Hip-Hop, Hare Raisers and Sixers Dancers were on hand for an on-site raffle where one lucky winner was awarded a 76-second shopping spree! Viola Young was the lucky winner to win the opportunity to run through the aisles of ACME, filling her cart with as many free groceries as she could during the allotted time. Young totaled up an astonishing $502.72 of free groceries in 76 seconds!

TOMORROW:

As part of Sixers Run With Us Week, Sixers Public Address Announcer Matt Cord, Hip-Hop, Hare Raisers and Sixers Dancers will ride on a double-decker tour bus and travel from the Wachovia Center down Broad Street, giving away Sixers T-Shirts. The tour culminates with a stop at the Comcast Center at 12:00 p.m., where Mayor Nutter will be on-hand to share his excitement for the Sixers playoff run.
