NOT AGAIN!: In Game 4, Hedo Turkoglu hit the game-winning 3-pointer for Orlando with 1.1 second remaining. During the regular season, the Sixers lost eight games by one or two points, including three buzzer beaters (Tony Parker at SA on 1/3, Dirk Nowitzki vs. DAL on 1/19, Devin Harris at NJ on 2/23) and four other game-winning shots in the final seconds (Rashard Lewis with 4.8 seconds left vs. ORL on 11/26, T.J. Ford with 3.7 seconds left vs. IND on 12/20, Brook Lopez with 16.8 second left vs. NJ on 1/31 and Ray Allen with 0.5 seconds left vs. BOS on 2/5). In the season finale at Cleveland on 4/15, Daniel Gibson hit a 3-pointer to send the game into overtime with 0.6 seconds left, but Philly prevailed in the extra session securing its place as the sixth seed for the right to face Orlando in the first round. Prior to Game 4, Philly enjoyed some of its own late game heroics in this series. In Game 1, Andre Iguodala hit the game-winning shot with 2.2 seconds left. In Game 3, Thaddeus Young scored the game-winning points with, you guessed it, 2.2 seconds remaining.
TWO-TWO TOO: For the second straight year, the Sixers enter Game 5 of the playoffs with their series tied 2-2, having won and lost the same order of games (wins in Games 1 and 3 and losses in Games 2 and 4). Here are some observations from the series so far:
- The Sixers won Game 3 after the series was tied 1-1… according to the Elias Sports Bureau, entering the 2009 playoffs, in best-of-seven series tied 1-1, the winner of Game 3 went on to win the series 75.8% of the time.
- Philly won Game 1 despite trailing by as many as 18 points in the third quarter and by 14 entering the fourth… the Sixers trailed by as many as 18 points in the third quarter of Game 2 but came as close as five points in the fourth… Orlando led by as many as 11 points in the third quarter during its victory in Game 4 and was up 10 with four minutes left in the fourth before Philly tied the game.
- A total of eight points in Orlando’s favor separates the teams over the four games this series… in the three regular season meetings, the Magic outscored the Sixers by 6.0 points per game (18 total).
- Orlando has held Philly below 90 points in both of its wins this series (Games 2 and 4)… the Magic was 25-3 when its opposition scored below 90 during the regular season.

- Philly has hit just one fewer 3-pointer than Orlando this series after the Magic had 20 more 3FGM than the Sixers in the three regular season matchups… Philly was second-to-last in the NBA in 3FGM during the regular season while Orlando had the second most.
- The Sixers have shot 40.0% or better in three of the four games this series and 42.1% overall… Philly shot a league-worst 31.8% from behind-the-arc during the regular season… the Sixers were 18-5 when shooting 40.0% or better from behind-the-arc during the regular season.
