Sixers sponsors meet the team

The 76ers annual “Meet the Team” event can be best described not with words, but by the looks on the faces of the sponsors, corporate partners and their families as they had a chance to interact with the players and coaches on Monday night.

An event that featured the entire team and coaching staff was filled with star-struck eyes, laughter and a sense of disbelief that the players who appear nightly on highlight reels were available and accessible to the Sixers' sponsors and their families.

“I can’t believe how close I am to all of my favorite players,” said Sam, a third grader. “I watch them on TV and in person, but never thought I would get to meet them up close.”

Every year the Sixers sponsor an event for their sponsors to show their appreciation for everything they do for the organization. The team is made up of players and coaches, but it would not be possible without the continued support of the sponsors.

“It is almost a surreal moment meeting my favorite team up close and personal,” a lifetime Sixers fan Ron Calvinarri said. “You would never think how personable and down to earth NBA players can be.”

The fans were not the only individuals who took something memorable from the event. The players and coaches were genuinely excited to meet an integral part of the organization.

“The sponsors are just as important as the players and coaches,” Sixers forward Reggie Evans said. “If it wasn’t for them we wouldn’t be here right now. We get all of the credit being out on the court, but in reality the sponsors mean as much to the organization as we do.”
